From its inception, to date, the Immaculata Veritas Women Alumni has been giving back to Immaculata in so many ways. Wherever there is a need, we have only to ask and a way is found to be of help.
We are living in times, where there is an increasing lack of moral leadership and accountability and young women are often victims of the times they are living in.
Our Immaculata girls come from socio-economic backgrounds that are at times very challenging but there is a core of strength that runs through them that despite their difficulties, they stand up every day and show up to do what is required of them.
But there are times that the challenges are greater than they and their families can bear and this is where the Immaculata Veritas Women Alumni have stepped in and helped their ‘little sisters’ along.
A comment that I have often heard from various Alumni that I have met over the past few years is, “I want to give back for all that I have received. Immaculata has shaped me into the woman I am today.”
It was therefore quite appropriate that at its launch, the call was made to “STEP UP, STEP IN, GIVE BACK AND OFFER SUPPORT TO OUR ALMA MATER” and that call has been honoured by so many of our Alumni in the generosity that they have shown to Immaculata and its current learners and even our staff.
It is also in the moral support and upliftment programmes that some of our Alumni have initiated at the school that we can see how our girls are blossoming. We thank you for this, Veritas Women!
As a past pupil of Immaculata, I am so proud to be a part of this fraternity of empowered Veritas Women who are now reaching out to help empower our younger sisters. I salute you, Veritas Women! I am humbled by your generosity and the example of empowered women that you represent and that our girls can look up to.
We ask God’s blessings on you and on our school and as our school song says: “Ever onward let us venture, ever upward we will climb.”
And from our Pledge, I quote:
“Together, and by the grace of God, we will build an unbreakable bond of many sisters but one flame of Truth.”
