REMEMBER THE IMMACULATA LIBRARY? WE NEED HELP!
I am sure that many Immaculata alumni have very fond memories of the school library, which for many years provided a source of information about school projects, interesting novels to stretch the imagination, and a peaceful haven to work, or to relax and recharge!
Unfortunately, it has become more and more difficult over the years to maintain the library, given that no state funding for buying books is provided, and the school’s income from school fees has to stretch further and further to cover basic running costs.
Most of the original books were very shabby and not relevant to the interests of modern learners, and the reference books were hopelessly out of date.
We are therefore appealing to our Veritas Women to look around your homes, and the homes of your children and grandchildren (and even your neighbors!), and see if you can find ‘pre-loved’ books that family members have outgrown and no longer need.
We desperately need novels to provide interest and stimulation for our girls, as well as to improve their vocabulary and language use.
Please drop your books off at the school – we will really appreciate your help!
